Atlantic Canada Technology Initiative
The Atlantic Canada Technology Initiative (ACTI) had a strong presence in Atlantic Canada for two-years. During the pilot project of ACTI, a great deal was accomplished in making tourism operators in Atlantic Canada more technology savvy. This gave them a competitive advantage in attracting visitors to this region through the use of information technology. In addition, the ACTI has produced several pieces of research, identifying the current level of technology skills among Atlantic Canadian tourism operators and the types of products, services and training they require for further development. This places the organization in a strategic position to help shape and design customized solutions for this market and compliment the public and private sectors in their offering. The ACTI was renamed to TourismTechnology.com in 2001.
